Park fun

Today we met some friends and their son who is a little older than Gianna at the downtown park. Here Gianna is enjoying some watermelon.

Demonstrating her flexibility and ability to multi-task (squat and drink).

There is a really fun water fountain area where kids can walk around and go through water sprays. We were not sure whether or not Gianna would like it, but turns out she LOVED it and was mad when we made her leave. I was soaking wet by the end.

Hugged up with Elephante

Gianna LOVES Elephante. This morning Matt left for Ireland to play golf for 5 days. He wanted to say goodbye to Gianna, so we went in her room and turned on the light and this was what we saw. Even with the light on for 10 minutes, she slept on. So, we decided to let her sleep. She didn't wake up until nearly 11am!! Then she later took a 3 and 1/2 hour nap. In total, she was only awake for about 6 hours today. You would think I would have gotten a lot done, but instead I read books and laid on the couch and napped. Oh--and watched the Olympics, of course. During the Olympics I am a sports fanatic. Matt enjoys it because I usually complain about his ESPN-watching. Anyway, Gianna still went to bed tonight at 7:15. I think she is catching up from her busy week.

Some exciting and shocking news!

So in case you haven't guessed it from these photos, I am pregnant again! This came as a complete shock to Matt and I which is why I did 4 separate tests. As you can see, all results were positive. I went to the doctor today. I am 9 weeks and 4 days along--due date, Friday March 13th (scary!). I am nervous thinking of 2 kids under the age of 2.

More athletic than Mommy

Back home in Houston

Well, we made it back just in time. There was a tropical storm brewing and everything in Houston was closed today. They cancelled my clinic, so I somehow have to reschedule nearly 40 patients. The sad part was that it wasn't even raining that badly. Gianna and I hung out all day. She seemed tired after all the excitement of the weekend.

First Visit to the Beach

Gianna was not real sure about the sand or the water. I think she didn't like the feel of the sand under her toes.

Evan playing shark.

Lake Michigan, Mommy, Gianna and Elephante.

Daddy tried to coax her into the water. No such luck.

Gabrielle in the pink train car at the mall.

More Wisconsin

Matt and Gabrielle switched hats at the zoo.

Gianna getting a boost from Daddy in Madison.

Family photo at Memorial Union Terrace. It was PERFECT weather, especially for the Texans who are used to 100 degrees and 90% humidity. As you can see, I had to wear a sweater.

We really tried to get photos of the three kids together. Gianna kept bouncing away. She had fun playing with Will (notice the perfect pose) and Noelle. It was a fun day visiting with the Schumanns and Patels!

We managed to go to the beach in Racine on Sunday. Here is Gabrielle hard at work.

Wisconsin Visit

Our first accident due to not completely child-proofing.

We were in Wisconsin the last few days. This is Gianna with her cousin, Evan, who is 8 years old. Evan was great with Gianna--very helpful and entertaining as you can see by the photo. He even helped pick out clothes for her in the mall yesterday.

Gabrielle, Gianna's other Wisconsin cousin, is 3 years old. Here she is posing with a very old Kewpie doll.

Evan and me sharing a drink.

We went to the Milwaukee zoo. This is a duck in mid-splash.
