Our visitor
A baby bluejay fell (or tried to fly) out of our big oak tree into the yard. We had to keep an eye on him so the neighborhood cats wouldn't get him. We think his mom and dad found him and took care of him after Matt carried him (wearing gloves) to an obvious spot in the yard. He was hiding in our hedges in these pictures.

My trip to the hospital
On Monday, April 16th, I ended up in the hospital for a few hours. I was having abdominal cramping, and we thought it might be pre-term labor. Turns out, it was braxton-hicks contractions (little did I know how painful these could be!!). Then I was told to be on bedrest for 2 days. I went to the doctor today, and she said I could continue my normal activities. I am still not feeling that great, but I guess there is not much I can do about it. Anyway, now I am really worried that I won't be able to handle real labor. Also, I really don't want the next 3 months to be filled with "practice" labor!

My new baby symptoms
My mom bought me this t-shirt. Funny, huh?
This past weekend I started noticing some pressure in my abodomen. Initially I thought it was cute...I could feel hard spots by my ribcage that were maybe her foot, or head, or elbow. Now, however, I am getting really annoyed. It seems she wants me to be as uncomfortable as possible. Hopefully this is normal and I will get used to it, but right now it is not fun!

My doctor's visit
So, at my last doctor's visit 2 days ago I had to drink this nasty glucose drink to rule out gestational diabetes. It was disgusting. And then, my doctor said something to this effect, "you've gained more weight than some people would have chosen, but you are still within the normal range...". I don't really think I chose to gain this much, but now I am totally paranoid!!!
Men have it good.
